  her Ph.D. at Duke University followed by two 3 year postdoctoral fellowsh
 ips\, one at Emory University and one at Pennsylvania State University. Sh
 e started as an Assistant Professor in the Departments of Anthropology and
  Biology at UC in Fall 2020. In the her lab\, she investigates the impact 
 of genetic and epigenetic variation on differences in fitness across envir
 onmental conditions. By using human and non-human primate models\, her wor
 k has direct applications to both human health research and conservation w
 ork. Furthermore\, because she investigates questions relating to human va
 riation and evolution as well as endangered species conservation and she w
 orks with and near marginalized peoples in areas of the world with long hi
 stories of colonial oppression\, her work incorporates the consideration o
 f ethical implications of the work and involves the participant communitie
 s in the work throughout the research process\, from study design through 
 publication. Dr. Grogan is currently developing projects to examine how lo
 ng-term environmental change has affected human hunter-gatherers in Southw
 est Uganda and how short-term environmental variation affects wild thick-t
