Population Science & Cancer Control Research Program

The Population Science & Cancer Control Research Program’s purpose is to collaboratively partner with our community to conduct comprehensive population-based research that spans the cancer continuum from prevention to survivorship. The research program’s foci include cancer biomarkers, screening, environmental exposure and cancer risk factors.

Program Aims

  • To investigate the unique molecular, behavioral and environmental drivers of cancer risk and disparities in the UCCC catchment area.
  • To reduce cancer disparities through the design, testing and implementation of novel screening and prevention interventions.
  • To reduce the burden of cancer treatment and eliminate outcome disparities for patients and survivors in our catchment area.
