On March 27, 2026, the University of Michigan hosted the annual Midwest Regional Education and Research Center (ERC) Symposium in Ann Arbor focusing on the Past, Present, and Future of Occupational Safety and Health. On March 28, 2026, ERC University of Michigan Regional Symposium student and faculty participants learned about American manufacturing in U.S. history, touring the Ford Rouge Factory in Dearborn, Michigan. The tour consisted of five primary stations designed to provide a comprehensive experience of the manufacturing plant, its processes, and its historical background (The Henry Ford, 2026a; Factory Tours USA, 2026).
