Overview

Welcome to the Department of Pharmacology, Physiology, and Neurobiology. Our goal is to advance the fields of basic and applied pharmacology, physiology, and neurobiology by engaging in innovative biomedical research. We place special research emphasis in cardiovascular biology, chronobiology, computational biology, metabolic biology, membrane transport, and neurobiology. We provide our students with a challenging and supportive environment to pursue academic and professional careers in the biomedical sciences.

Aug 2024 – Dr. Sobuj Mia (Drosatos Lab) has won the top Young Investigator Competition Award of the International Society for Heart Research-North American Section.

First-author paper for Amoakon in "iScience"

Sep 2024 – New PhD graduate Dr. Jean-Pierre Amoakon reports that Defective CFTR modulates mechanosensitive channels TRPV4 and PIEZO1 and drives endothelial barrier failure.
