The University of Cincinnati Department of Orthopaedic Surgery exclusively utilizes the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS) for the residency application process.
If you are interested in applying to our program, please contact your medical school for your ERAS information. If you are an international medical graduate, please contact your local Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG) office for more information on ERAS.
Application Process
The Department of Orthopaedic Surgery participates in the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP). Through this program, five residents are selected each year for our traditional five-year orthopaedic surgery residency.
NRMP Match Track
Applications are accepted only through ERAS. Sponsored by the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC), ERAS transmits residency applications, letters of recommendation, Medical Student Performance Evaluations (MSPE/Dean's Letters), transcripts, and other supporting credentials directly to residency programs. We do not require any documents beyond standard ERAS requirements.
Application Deadline
The deadline for receipt of all application materials, except the Dean's Letter is October 15. Applications that are incomplete by this deadline will not be considered.
Following a thorough review of applications, competitive applicants will be invited to interview. Our program participates in the American Orthopaedic Association (AOA) Council of Orthopaedic Residency Directors (CORD) Universal Interview Offer Day process.
