The UC Three Minute Thesis (3MT) competition was on February 27, 2025. 3MT challenges students to present their research to a non-specialist audience in only three minutes and using just one PowerPoint slide. After multiple preliminary rounds three College of Medicine graduate students made it to the finalist stage.

Alex Sprague, a student in the Medical Scientist Training Program, was the first-place winner. Sprague receives a $1000 award for winning the competition and will be registered to compete in the Midwestern Association Regional 3MT competition held during the MAGS annual meeting from April 2-4.
