Welcome to the Cincinnati Medical Scientist Training Program (MSTP), a multi-institutional MD/PhD program supported by the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine and Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center.
Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center is the No. 1 children's hospital in Ohio and in the Midwest Region according to US News & World Report, and has consistently been ranked one of the best children's hospitals in the nation for 20 years. They are nationally ranked in 11 pediatric specialties, including No. 3 in Neonatology and No. 2 in Pediatric Cancer. Together, our two institutions provide outstanding opportunities for training tomorrow's leaders in academic medicine.
The mission of our program is to develop individuals who truly make a difference in patient outcomes through bench to bedside research. Students in our program receive personalized, longitudinal mentoring through our Senior Physician Scientist (SPS) Mentor Program from the beginning of their first year. SPS mentors help our students define long-term career goals and make decisions about everything from research rotations to residency programs. Our graduates consistently match at top residency and fellowship programs nationwide. MSTP alumni include department chairs, center directors, and faculty members at leading medical schools.
