Applicants must be in an ACGME-certified neurology training program. Applications are generally reviewed approximately 18 months before the intended start date.
In order to be appointed to a fellow in epilepsy position (PGY-5 or PGY-6), a candidate must successfully complete medical school training and pass USMLE Steps I, II and III, and graduate from ACGME-accredited neurology or pediatric neurology residency program. Foreign medical graduates are required to complete ECFMG certification in addition.
The candidate must have or be eligible for training or permanent license to practice medicine in the State of Ohio from the State Medical Board of Ohio. Graduates of foreign medical schools, both U.S. citizens and foreign nationals, must have current and valid ECFMG certification. The candidate must receive all required immunizations and complete hospital credentialing as well as a pre-employment drug screening.
We also require a current CV, three letters of recommendation and a personal statement, USMLE Steps I, II and III passing scores. Applicants who are not U.S. citizens must have active, unexpired visas that allow for clinical training or evidence of permanent U.S. immigrant status. This visa must remain active during the entire period of fellow's participation in the fellowship program.
If you are a graduate of a foreign medical school, we will also need a copy of your ECFMG certificate. It is the candidate's responsibility to make sure that all necessary documents including those regarding proof of employment eligibility and ECFMG certification are current and valid at all times.
