Meet Your Student Wellness Committee

The mission of the Student Wellness Committee is to offer a system of academic, social, emotional, and psychological support to the students of UCCOM

The SWC takes a two-pronged approach to wellness:

  • Social/wellness activities meant for relaxation, stress-relief, and camaraderie among classmates
  • Advocacy for wellness issues within the curriculum

Honoring National Brain Cancer Awareness Month

Brain and spinal cord tumors affect thousands each year and pose unique challenges due to their complexity and location. At the University of Cincinnati Cancer Center, researchers like Dr. Jonathan Forbes are advancing innovative treatments such as immunotherapy and focused ultrasound to improve outcomes for patients with aggressive and rare brain tumors.

River View Coal Mine and GE Appliances Interdisciplinary Trip - March 16-18, 2025

ERC students and 3 faculty went on a trip to visit River View Coal, LLC in Waverly, KY and the GE Appliances Park in Louisville, KY. At River View the group learned about the safety features and gear, then went on an underground tour and a surface tour of the mine, and spoke with leadership, clinicians, and staff to ask questions and learn more about worker safety.

The University of Cincinnati Cancer Center awarded 2025 Survivorship Pilot Project funding to Anthony Faiola, PhD, MFA, and Matia Solomon, PhD, to support innovative research on cancer-related cognitive impairment in brain and breast cancer survivors.
