International Student Immunization Requirements

You are required to complete a health screening prior to your arrival to the university campus. THIS IS MANDATORY. The health screening includes the Tuberculosis (TB) screening and proof of required immunizations.

All students entering through the International Office are required to complete the Tuberculosis Risk Assessment form with their medical provider. Students may only be exempt from the tuberculosis test if their medical provider determines that they do not meet any of the criteria on the UC risk assessment form.

Part One: Tuberculosis Risk Assessment Forms

TB Screening requires an IGRA blood test to rule out tuberculosis. This must be done before your arrival at UC and within three months before the start of classes.

1. Complete this set of Tuberculosis Risk Assessment forms (PDF) with your healthcare provider. You will need to submit both the forms and the lab test results of your TB QFT blood test.

2. Upload your completed Tuberculosis Risk Assessment forms into the Bearcats Health App.

   Once you log in using your UC email address and password, you should upload your forms and the lab test results using the "Upload TB Form and Lab Results" button.

3. Your documents will be reviewed by University Health Services. If any additional steps are required, you will be notified by email.

This screening must be done before your arrival at UC and within the 3 months prior to the start of classes. If you are unable to complete prior to your arrival or have any questions about uploading your materials, please contact UHSTracking@ucmail.uc.edu.

Part Two: Proof of Required Immunizations

Required immunizations are listed below.

1. Take the UC Standardized Immunization form (PDF) to your healthcare provider to complete and sign. This must be done before your arrival at UC's campus.
2. Use your UC username and password to access your Bearcats Health App account.
3. Prior to your arrival at UC, upload your completed immunization form (PDF) to Bearcats Health App, showing proof of all university-required immunizations. This must be completed before your arrival to UC.

Your required immunizations include:

• Hepatitis B: Hepatitis B surface antibody (HBSAB) titer blood test* OR 3 Hepatitis B vaccine doses (given at 0,1, and 6 months apart) OR 2 Heplisav-B doses (given at least 1 month apart)
• *If your titer is < 10, you need a Hepatitis B booster dose.
• MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella): 2 vaccine doses OR MMR titer*
• Meningitis A (Meningococcal Quadrivalent): One dose if you are 16 to 21 years of age. Dose must be given on/after 16th birthday.
• Tuberculosis: IGRA blood test (QuantiFERON or T-Spot)
• Tdap (Tetanus, Diphtheria, Acellular Pertussis): One dose given within the past 10 years.
• Varicella: 2 vaccine doses OR Varicella antibody (VZVIgG) titer*
