MPH in Occupational Public Health

Elevate your public health foundation with the MPH—Occupational Public Health concentration, integrating epidemiology, exposure assessment, program evaluation, and policy with hands-on OEM practice. This pathway pairs seamlessly with the UC OEM Residency for trainees pursuing leadership roles in public health, industry, or government and—when combined with an ACGME-accredited OEM residency and ABPM-required coursework—supports eligibility for certification in Occupational & Environmental Medicine through the American Board of Preventive Medicine (ABPM).

UC NIOSH Education & Research Center (ERC)

The University of Cincinnati Education & Research Center (ERC) serves regional and national needs in occupational safety and health through interdisciplinary academic education, research training, and professional development —with active outreach to translate research into practice.

What the ERC offers

  1. Graduate education: MS and PhD programs, plus a wide range of continuing education for practicing professionals.
  2. Disciplines: Environmental & Industrial Hygiene, Occupational Health Nursing, Occupational Medicine Residency, and Occupational Safety & Health Engineering.
  3. Specialized training: Biomonitoring, Pilot Project Research Training (PPRT), and Targeted Research Training (TRT) to build research skills and fund new ideas.
