The Division of Digestive Diseases at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine is one of the oldest gastroenterology divisions in the nation.
The division includes sections of luminal gastroenterology, hepatology/ liver transplant medicine, Pancreatology, Advanced Endoscopy, and Nutrition. The faculty consists of full-time physicians and basic scientists who are engaged in research, patient care, and teaching. In addition, the division has 11 Clinical Fellows and the potential for two sub-sub specialty fellows (Pancreatology/Advanced Endoscopy and Liver Transplantation)
The division has an inpatient Gastroenterology Consultation Service, a Hepatic consultation service, and an Inpatient Hepatology service. A Liver Transplant program is jointly run with the Department of Surgery. There are weekly GI and liver clinics, a weekly liver Transplantation clinic, and a Pancreatic Disease Center clinic located at the UC Health Barrett Center.
