We are very fortunate here at Cincinnati Med-Peds that we have a 5th year Chief Resident to support our residents and assist in running our program! Our Med-Peds Chief Resident has completed residency and functions as an attending in the inpatient and outpatient settings. Having finished residency, our Chief spends 100% of their time committed to our program and amazing residents. They also work closely with the Chief Residents in the internal medicine and pediatrics residency programs on scheduling, conferences, and other special events. Our Chief is therefore uniquely positioned to help our residents navigate two programs and multiple hospitals, all the while serving as their advocate, support system, and biggest cheerleader!
Although I grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area and spent my undergraduate and teaching years on the East Coast, Cincinnati has become home since I arrived for medical school eight years ago. My very first clinical rotation was in our program’s combined Med-Peds Clinic, and from that moment, I was hooked - Med-Peds (and this program in particular) captured my heart.
My passions and scholarly interests center around promoting evidence-based, equitable care for patients with childhood-onset medical complexity and intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD), particularly during the transition from pediatric to adult healthcare. The mentorship I’ve found within Med-Peds and across our categorical programs has been invaluable, surpassing anything I could have hoped for.
Outside the hospital, I’m a proud member of one of three Med-Peds volleyball teams in our local brewery sand league and enjoy fostering dogs through local agencies, finding new favorite coffee shops, and spending time with the friends and co-residents who have truly become family.
