The goal of the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine Transplant Hepatology Fellowship is to train physicians to be fully capable of meeting the current and future needs of the clinical and academic transplant hepatology communities.
The fellowship offers a variety of conferences and teaching opportunities designed to enhance education and clinical expertise. Regular conferences include the Hepatobiliary Tumor Conference, held virtually via Teams on Thursdays from 7:00 to 8:00AM; the Liver Transplant Selection Committee, which meets Tuesdays from 12:00 to 1:00PM; the Gastroenterology Fellowship Conference, scheduled on Thursdays from 3:00 to 5:00PM; and the Monthly Hepatology Conference on Mondays from 4:00 to 5:00PM.
Fellows also participate in teaching medical students and residents through lectures on key hepatology topics such as management of portal hypertension, evaluation of abnormal liver tests, indications and complications of liver transplantation, immunosuppression, viral hepatitis, autoimmune liver disorders, alcoholic liver disease, and metabolic dysfunction-associated steatohepatitis (MASH).
