Master of Public Health - Global Health Concentration

Over the years we have seen global health challenges become increasingly complex. Driven by globalization, climate, pandemics, rising health concerns, and the dual burden of infectious and non-communicable diseases, the need for skilled global public health professionals has never been more critical. The UC MPH-Global Health concentration prepares students to enter the field by equipping them with the analytical, methodological, and leadership skills necessary to address health issues, strengthen health systems, and design evidence-based solutions across diverse global contexts. The program fosters an interdisciplinary approach, empowering students to engage with key global health topics such as sustainable health systems and programs, health policy and diplomacy, and the role of international institutions in shaping global health. By focusing on population health, cultural humility, disease surveillance, and ethical considerations, students will be trained to assess and address health issues worldwide. The curriculum emphasizes strategic planning, professional networking, and global health frameworks, preparing students to lead with cultural competency, advocate for better health for all, and collaborate with global partners. Graduates will emerge as leaders ready to contribute to innovative solutions and engage in actions that promote collective well-being.

All UC MPH concentrations are science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) designated.
